Welcome
Old Coots on Scoots is an Historic Sanctioned Chapter of the AMA, Sanction #6911.
Old Coots On Scoots (OCOS) was founded in 1947 by George Harris Tucker, for the sole purpose of just having fun while riding motorcycles with friends. G. H. Tucker rode with the group until his death in 1951. George's son, Dan, restarted Old Coots on Scoots in 1984 in Santa Rosa, California, Chapter 1 and passed away this last April 2011. His son, David L. Allen now heads up our organization as the third generation of this family of riders.
We are Chapter 56 here in the Great Northwest out of Olympia and the South Sound Area. Our Chapter started in June 2008 with a few Olympia riders who share the same desire as the founder George Tucker (RIP) and his son Daniel Tucker (RIP) and now Daniel's son, David.
We want to ride, have fun with our friends, without the hassles of prospecting, mandatory meetings, mandatory rides, bylaws for direction, or Officers to answer to. We want to ride and have fun!
The only rules are you must own a motorcycle, be an Old Coot or Biddy and the majority rules. OCOS often participate in local area rides, fund raisers and just get together for breakfast, lunch or dinner wile riding and having fun. Ride whenever you want to! All Old Coots on Scoots Chapters promote Motorcycle and Public Safety Rules and participation in any ride or get together is strictly voluntary. Also, members of other groups are invited to ride with us and have a great time enjoying the Great Northwest. Did we mention we want to ride and have fun!
All members are Life Time Members, so once you are an Old Coot, you will always be an Old Coot!
WE JUST WANT TO RIDE AND HAVE FUN!!
"Olde Time Bikers Creed for riding"
Between these handlebars I've seen
The beauty of this land...
And as the years have rolled on by
Well, let me tell you now first hand...
I've seen things through these handlebars
And I'm sure you've seen them too...
The mountains, plains, this land of ours
Oceans, rivers, sky's of blue...
And I'm sure you've felt the bitter cold
As you rode out long ago...
The years, the miles, the rain, the snow
And the warmth of a campfires glow...
Yes, the many years, old coot, you've rode
The friends met, stories told...
Yet, your still out riding highways
In the heat and in the cold...
Forty years or more you've rode along
Who cares what people say...
You're right, Their wrong, They stay, Your gone
It's just the Old Coots way...
To see things through these handlebars
Keep it simple, keep it free...
You're welcome now to ride along
Let's ride! Come ride with me.....
